My Unique Personal Weight| Fat Loss Experiment

This is the true story of my unique fat loss experiment which I planned and underwent under the supervision of my family doctor.I am writing this so that others may learn what to do and what to avoid when undergoing a weight loss program.

I put on weight and fat after my retirement from my regular job due to carefree and reckless overeating coupled with lack of exercise.During a routine medical check up my family doctor consulted some charts and informed me that I am overweight by about 20 kilos and I am almost obese. He warned me that if I carried on the same way I might be putting my heart at risk and might face other obesity related problems. He gave a small lecture on the hazards of being overweight. He also gave me a few fat|weight loss tips especially about abdominal fat loss since my belly at that time was the fattest part of my body growing horizontally about a foot from the middle of my body.I came home a bit depressed but decided to take it as a challenge to overcome my problem. This was how I started my fat loss experiment.

Initially I tried severe fasting.I thought foolishly that if I restrict my food intake, that would solve the problem.I took only one meal a day and continued this for about a month.During this period of severe fasting ,I took only water and endured continuous pangs of hunger before the meal and could barely concentrate on anything other than the enticing thought of the menu of my next meal.Every meal became one big joyous occasion to look forward to and I indulged myself and ate to my hearts content. After a month when I stood on the weighing scale I was shocked to know that I had actually gained weight instead of losing.I immediately gave up fasting as a tool to attain weight loss.

I consulted some of my overweight friends to know what they are doing about their weight.Almost all of them told me that they started fat loss program only to discontinue after the initial enthusiasm waned after sometime.I made up my mind not to allow this happen to me at any cost.

To strengthen my resolve to fight my overweight,I opted for the simple and easy breath control methods which the ancient eastern saints used as a tool to control their mind and body for acquiring extraordinary powers such as powers to heal which they used to cure people suffering from diseases. This method is so effective and powerful that after a few sessions,it invigorates the whole body and mind.It energizes every cell in your body and also purifies and calms your mind.It is difficult to believe but true and I vouch for it from my personal experience.

For about a week I meditated on the hazards of overweight and obesity.I also meditated about the joys of having a lean and fit body. This period of breath control and meditation strengthened my resolve to fight my overweight with determination and prepared me mentally for my fat loss experiment I planned for myself after consulting my family doctor.

I started my weight|fat loss experiment on 29 December 2007.My workouts started early in the morning at 6.The exercises comprised treadmill, cycling and weights. Before the workouts I did warm up exercises for about ten minutes which prepared my body for hard exercises. After about an hour of exercises I undertook a morning walk for an hour as advised by my doctor.I spent better part of my mornings tending plants in my small kitchen garden where I grew vegetables. This was the best part of my day and I loved every minute of it.I made it a point to be busy throughout the day.

The initial days of my weight|fat loss experiment were hell.I was not used to this strict regimen and every part of my body ached and cried for mercy.I was tempted many times to quit. But the very thought of a trim body filled me with determination and I carried on relentlessly. After about three months of regular exercises and strict diet control ,my body slowly got adjusted to this weight loss experiment.

The diet control was not easy either.I hated the food I consumed and my taste buds screamed for my regular unhealthy, spicy food. But I was adamant and forced my body to accept the new food for the sake of weight loss.I introduced high fiber low fat, balanced diet.I did not go in for low carb diet as I was warned against this by my doctor and included good carbs in my diet.

I included certain foods in my diet that require more calories to get digested than they supply.Such foods are called negative calorie foods. For example raw or steamed(not deep fried) vegetables such as carrot, cabbage, cauliflower, beans, spinach, beetroot, garlic, onion, radish, turnip etc....and fruits such as papaya, mango, pineapple, apple etc...require more energy for digestion than they supply and the metabolism is forced to burn excess fat in the body to make up for the energy shortfall. These negative calorie foods contain lots of essential vitamins and minerals that help produce enzymes to breakdown the food and for the excess fat burning required to counterbalance the energy shortfall for digestion.

I ate these negative calorie foods that have the fat burning quality and took them in the form of salads between meals or whenever I felt hungry.

This diet worked wonders for me and I lost about ten kilos in six months. This encouraged me and spurred me on for greater effort on my part. The information I got from the internet about fat|weight loss tips worked and I am slowly getting into shape. My friends were impressed and they wanted to know how I could do it.

I have not reached my goal yet but I have started to see results in my weight|fat loss experiment and this eggs me on to reach greater heights.I take this opportunity to thank the internet for the valuable information I received from it.
